Skateboards for Hope is pretty proud that we have successfully formed a branch in Gulu, Uganda 5 years ago! While our Gulu branch is a relatively new member of the Skateboards for Hope family, we have already seen amazing successes there. Chris Perrin travelled to Gulu in July 2014 and graciously offered to transport three skateboards to Gulu ambassador Magada Collins where the team grew from 1 to 48 boys and 2 girls in less than 2 months.
Now 5 years later we have over 150 enthusiastic skateboarders and growing plus a new chapter in the capital of Kampala. We are planning a trip in 2020 and we hope you will support us with donations or even join us in this adventure. Let's create more opportunities for youth to break the cycle of poverty.
...and not only from Gulu!
Skateboards for Hope's branch in Gulu has welcomed South Sudanese refugees aged 12-17! The boys fled their worn torn town and walked for days to Gulu where they were welcomed by 50 skaters. They are all safe practicing a sport that they love and we get more smiles than ever. We can't be more proud and honoured to witness the growth of our SBFH community!
